We’re as proud as this splendid peacock to be taking part in the next Big Give ‘Earth Raise’ environmental campaign that launches on 22nd April.
Through this campaign we’ll be raising funds for our urban nature programme in Kathmandu valley (reforestation and associated sapling nurseries) that is being implemented by Lily’s Leaves and for our rural nature programme in Dhanusha District, south Nepal (a community-based wildlife corridor incorporating our Gurkha Memorial Forest) that is being implemented by Mithila Wildlife Trust.
All donations made online will automatically double in value thanks to matching pledges we’ve been collecting since the start of the year.
And here’s the exciting thing – out of 337 participating charities, little old Pipal Tree will go into the campaign with the 13th most matching pledges in place – scroll down on this link where you’ll see that we have collected a staggering £87,750 in pledges. Let’s hope that through online gifts made during the main campaign we can translate that into £175,500. This is aiming really high during these tough financial times, but both Nepal and the planet need it.
We can’t wait to share with you latest news from our programmes including a new ground-breaking sub-project that we plan to launch within the wildlife corridor, new sightings of a major mammal that has been spotted within the corridor (the first time that this beast has been seen outside a national park since 2016) and how Lily’s team are literally powering their way into our seventh urban forest at Kirtipur in Kathmandu valley.
We will share a donation link as soon as the appeal goes live at noon on the 22nd, but in the meantime, we still have space for matched pledging of up to £707 through this link, the minimum pledge being £100. Can you or an associated organisation help us out please?
