The Big Give Green Match Fund appeal launched at noon today! Any gift you make now to our rural and urban nature restoration programme in Nepal will automatically double in value thanks to matching pledges that we’ve secured. That means your £10 donation online becomes £20 at no extra cost.
In south Nepal, we will:
- Expand our north–south wildlife corridor by planting three new fast‑growing forests, creating safe passage for animals such as wild elephants, deer and big cats across open farmland. This reduces the risk of potentially fatal human–wildlife conflict.
- Support up to 40 village women through cooperatives and microloans, helping them launch small businesses.
- Encourage up to 50 small farmers to adopt agroforestry, boosting both forest cover and their incomes.
In Kathmandu, we will:
- Plant two fast‑growing urban forests at a new site (Swayambhu, overlooking the valley) to clean and cool the air in one of the world’s most polluted cities.
- Create two nurseries and a seedbank to supply native saplings at scale and (for the first time) from endangered species ready for a major programme expansion in 2026/2027. This will increase biodiversity in our plantations.
- Provide forestry and horticulture training and employment for six deaf young women like Mamata (see the video below).
Please support this important annual environmental appeal. Just click the button below to find out more and give securely in any major currency. Remember, this runs for one week – or until our match funds are gone – so donate today to avoid disappointment!
Thank you so much for your support. Together, we can hit this ambitious goal. Nepal is on the front line of the climate and nature crisis and now more than ever, it needs our collective action.
