Lily’s Leaves
We supported Mrs Lily Katuwal KC in setting up social enterprise Lily’s Leaves in 2020 and have funded it ever since. Lily is a dynamic business woman and entrepreneur who it seems also has green fingers.
As a citizen of Kathmandu and a mum, she is passionate about improving the urban environment for the benefit of this and the next generation.
Early work
Between 2020 and 2025 Lily’s Leaves trained vulnerable young women (including some who are deaf) in tailoring and jewellery skills at a central training centre in Kathmandu. In 2025 this training transferred to Madhesh Province. Watch Lily describe how this activity supported education in south Nepal
In July 2023, Lily launched her first project within the Urban Nature Programme. Planting a Miyawaki forest by the banks of the Bishnumati River in
Kathmandu. This has been the start of something really big!
