Meet Yojana Sapkota, Lily’s Leaves’ newest trainee. Yojana, 24, is deaf and living with friends in Kathmandu. She comes from Dhading District in west Nepal, and has faced a difficult life. She hasn’t seen her father since childhood, and her mother passed away a year ago. With two older sisters busy with their own families, Yojana has little family support.
Now, she has a new opportunity. At the Lily’s Leaves sapling nursery in Kathmandu, she will join other young deaf women to learn horticultural and forestry skills, cultivating tree saplings that the Lily’s Leaves team is planting to create small urban forests across the valley.
Yojana’s training is made possible through The Big Give, where every donation is automatically doubled at no extra cost. You can support Yojana and help her grow both skills and hope by donating below. Thank you!
