Dr Clare Brown, a British botanist, has just completed a three-month visit to Nepal (her second visit of the year) during which time she has provided volunteer consultancy to our local partners, Lily’s Leaves in Kathmandu and The Mithila Wildlife Trust in south Nepal.
Clare has been particularly interested in reviewing the choice of species used in our rapid-growth Miyawaki Method forests, noting survival rates in the new extremes of weather that accompany climate change – soaring temperatures, floods and drought.
See below the short film in which she gives a flavour of what she has noted in Madhesh Province, this fascinating part of Nepal that so many visitors seem to pass by.
