Our Founder and CEO, Lt Col (Retd) Philip Holmes OBE, will be the guest speaker at The Britain-Nepal Society on Thursday the 15th May when he will describe recent progress and future plans for our Dhanusha Wildlife Corridor (incorporating the Gurkha Memorial Forest) project in south Nepal.
The Corridor will ultimately run for 12-km between the wooded Chure Hills and the isolated Dhanushadham Protected Forest that lies on the plains to the south. In Pipal Tree’s pioneering use of the rapid-growth ‘Miyawaki Method’ of reforestation, forest clusters are springing up that will allow safe passage of wildlife and restoration of biodiversity. Concurrently, the project delivers agroforestry benefits to farmers and livelihoods support to women’s cooperatives that we are helping to found.
The talk will be at St Anne’s Communal Hall, 55 Dean Street, London W1D 6AF, with doors opening for drinks from 6.00 p.m. for the talk to start at 6.45 p.m. Afterwards there will be a fantastic curry buffet provided by the acclaimed Munal Tandoori Restaurant in East Putney.
Drinks, lecture and curry are for a ticket price of just £30 inclusive. Beat that for an evening’s entertainment in London!
This offer must end on Tuesday 6th May, so, please book now to avoid disappointment! You can reserve your ticket(s) by BACS transfer to the Britain-Nepal Society, HSBC Account No 41386433, Sort Code 40-04-25 with the reference ‘Talk May25’.
